Let me introduce myself.

Hello! My name is Tim Meeker. I am a few years younger than my brother Sam. My father’s name is Eliphalet Meeker (also called Life) and my mother’s name is Susannah. I live in Redding. My parents run a tavern in town. My daily chores are to take care of the animals and keeping the tavern clean and running.

                My brother Sam went to college and came back with talk of war. He is also talking about how he raided fought the British with the minutemen at Lexington and Concord. Sam has been making my father mad because he keeps talking about how a war is brewing and he is going to join the Continental Army and our dad believes in listening to Britain and paying the taxes. Tomorrow, I’m going to have to do my chores.
